Hello, parents! I'm excited to report that students have completed a collaborative project utilizing an online tool or app called VoiceThread. Students worked two solid days in class last week and then followed up with additional time in and outside of class this week in order to finish their projects, which included text, an image, and narration. The project's goals were ambitious: to explore how literary elements in the novel The Tiger Rising work together to create its theme and to show the progression of the theme of grief throughout the book.
Students worked in literature circle groups within their classes as well as groups within each of my three sections to produce the project. The end result combines text evidence and themes provided by each literature circle group to show how the theme of grief is portrayed throughout the entire book. Some screenshots of student work can be seen below. If you're interested in seeing more, please let me know, and I'll share a link to the VoiceThread that your child was part of. Right now, the VoiceThreads are private.
